Lichii GitHub: the zortos293/Lichii Repository and Its Forks

The Lichii GitHub repository is zortos293/Lichii, and it is the only place the emulator is built and published. Every download on this wiki points back to its Releases page. Below you will find what the repository actually contains, which older emulators it grew out of, how its 15 releases line up from the first Windows package to build 117, and how to tell the official project apart from the 951 forks that copy its name or its description.

What the repository holds

Description
"VERY experimental Nintendo Switch 2 emulator", in the owner's own words.
Build source
Every release is an automatic build of the nx2 branch; the release title carries the build number and the short commit hash.
Code
Mostly C++, with Kotlin, CMake, Python and GLSL alongside it.
Program name
The GUI target is still called yuzu internally and produces lichii.exe on Windows and lichii on Linux and macOS.
Artwork
The Lichii logo, icon and library artwork are by YOB (yobslab).
Not included
No games, keys or firmware. The README asks for legally obtained games and system files only.
Affiliation
An independent fork, not affiliated with Nintendo.

Where Lichii comes from

Lichii did not start from scratch. The README names four projects it builds on, and the early releases were still published under the Eglantine name until build 65. Select a node to read what Lichii keeps from it.

The eleven bisect branches

Besides nx2, the repository keeps eleven bisect/oot-* branches. Each one pins a commit used to narrow down which change broke or fixed Ocarina of Time. Three of them are Linux-only. They are developer tools: none of them has a release, and you do not need them to play.

Forks and downstream projects

Many forks reuse the Lichii name and copy the repository description word for word, so a familiar description proves nothing. The owner name in the URL is what counts: only zortos293 publishes Lichii. The projects below are the most visible ones; none of them is part of the official project.

RepositoryTypeStarsCreatedWhat it is
Frizti/Fritchii Fork 1,752 Nov 5, 2026 The most-starred fork, tuned for one specific game. Build 88 ported several of its performance changes back into Lichii.
pavelgajdo/Lichii-Android Fork 135 Nov 5, 2026 A community Android attempt. It is not published by zortos293, and official Lichii has never shipped an APK.
Shakoquo/Lichii-sharkiix-version Fork 82 Nov 5, 2026 A fork aimed at AMD GPUs and tuned for Ocarina of Time.
K-code-AI/Greenhat-Lichii Fork 43 Nov 5, 2026 A fork carrying fixes for the Green Hat Kid game.

thanosipsis/Lichii-gpui Downstream 0 Nov 7, 2026 An alternative GPUI-CE frontend that replaces the Qt interface.
juliptree/OcarinaSaveBridge Tool 0 Nov 8, 2026 A Windows utility for moving compatible Ocarina of Time saves from Lichii or Eden to NX2navi, with backups and rollback.

Check that you are on the real project

01

Owner in the URL

The address must read github.com/zortos293/Lichii. A fork shows a different owner before the slash, even when its name and description match.

02

Release title

Official releases are named like Lichii nx2 build 117 (89440b2). The commit hash in brackets links to a real commit on the nx2 branch.

03

No other site

The README says there is no download site besides GitHub Releases. Archives from lichii.org are not built by the project, and issue #545 reports one installing malware.

Frequently asked questions

What is the official Lichii GitHub page?

It is github.com/zortos293/Lichii. That repository holds the source code on the nx2 branch and the Releases page with every official package. The README states that Lichii has no other download site, so any other address offering Lichii files is not the project.

Is Lichii open source, and under which license?

Yes. The repository is licensed GPL-3.0, and the README keeps the GPL-3.0-or-later notice together with the older GPL-2.0-or-later notice inherited from yuzu. The full source of each release is attached to it as a source code archive.

Why do the first releases say Eglantine instead of Lichii?

Lichii grew out of Eglantine. Releases from the first Windows package on 31 October 2026 up to build 65 were published as Eglantine nx2 builds. Build 70 on 4 November is the first release titled Lichii, and the in-app updater checks Lichii releases from build 75 on.

Is Lichii-Android on GitHub an official build?

No. pavelgajdo/Lichii-Android is a community fork, not published by zortos293. None of the 15 official releases contains an Android APK; official packages cover Windows x86_64, Linux x86_64 and aarch64, and Apple Silicon Macs.
